About Rachel

When I was in Charlottesville, Virginia to do my postgraduate work in architecture,
one of my co-workers and his fiancé, who had become dear friends, asked me if
I would consider marrying them. I helped them to build a very personal ceremony,
and we performed it under the trees at their family home.  Before I knew it, their
friends and my friends started asking me if I would help them with their ceremonies.
One thing led to another, and now I do weddings in lots of amazing places around
Colorado's Rocky Mountains!

I'm a bit of a free spirit. I love to write, especially travel articles, which allow me to share my experiences of our gorgeous state with visitors. I also am a Nia dance instructor, I firespin and dance, and love to admire music, art, and wine. I often find myself outdoors and enjoy snowboarding, exploring for waterfalls, photography, surfing, lake kayaking, and taking my jeep on new adventures!

When I am not officiating, I am an architect specializing in the creation of sacred space. I design meditation gardens and rooms, dance studios, martial arts dojos, original labyrinths, and have worked for foremost architects in religious and residential design.  I love the earth, and I build things onto it that respect it. I love people, and I design spaces where they may find sanctuary.

Creating sanctuary is, in fact, the most important goal of my life. Whether it be in space creation, or in space holding, as when I am performing weddings... I want to make sure every moment is infused with love, ease, and grace!

I'm confident that we can work together to make your wedding everything you hope for!

About Megan

I grew up in the suburbs of St. Paul, Minnesota and attended a woman’s college in St. Paul.  I believe that Minnesota, especially the St. Croix River Valley is one of the most beautiful places on the earth.   My family instilled a love of travel, and I have been all over the states, North America, and Europe.  I moved from Minnesota to the Ohio River Valley and then again to South Central Indiana.  The rolling hills and spectacular springs reminded me of Minnesota.  In September 2006 I went on vacation with my sweetie to visit my brothers in Boulder.  We fell in love with the mountains and moved 6 weeks later.  We now live in the mountains about 40 miles west of Denver at 9,400 feet.  Every day we are grateful for our lives, our home, and being near family.

With a background in public speaking, writing, fundraising, and sales I felt the pull to not only work from home but work for myself.  In 2007 I opened my own business, while still doing fundraising part-time.  March 2008 I left the non-profit world for my own adventure. I am now an internationally known psychic, medium, healer, author, speaker and trainer.

When I am not officiating I am traveling, cooking, reading, hiking, teaching, or running a weekend retreat from our home in Evergreen.  We love to explore the state of Colorado and though we have been all over feel as if we discover new experiences and adventures all the time.  Right before Christmas 2007 we adopted Sean, a Golden Retriever puppy.  I grew up around many dogs and cats; to add Sean to our family has been a joy.  He comes almost everywhere with us

What I love about weddings and your big day is designing the ceremony that will mean the most for you and the beautiful and wonderful sense of possibility.  Everyone present is brought back to the sense and truth that love makes anything possible.  My “love monkey” Harry and I designed our own ceremony for Thanksgiving Day 2007, and it was the perfect reflection of the two of us and our families.  Having someone who is the guiding foundation for you, and a sense of strength, peace and love gives you the freedom to enjoy and experience your day to the fullest!

About Dan

It was my good fortune to be raised on a working farm and know a rural, earth-connected childhood. I have a degree in horticulture, have managed a major garden center and in 2006 sold Wild Flowers, the nature and garden oriented gift store I founded in 1995. I am returning to my roots with a focus on landscaping work.

Mother Nature is my avenue for spiritual fulfillment and I'm at peace when immersed in her beauty. When my nephew and his fiancé asked me to officiate at their wedding ceremony I was dumbfounded (a state I rarely visit). My first coherent thought was, “This is the most perfect thing
that could happen to me right now.” And it was. We worked together to create an entirely custom service filled with Native American ceremony that deeply touched everyone in attendance.

Next a friend asked me to officiate for her in my home garden. This was another rewarding day and I was particularly touched by the palpable flow of love not only between the bride and groom, but all their friends as well.

These two experiences brought my life path to Lyssabeth's. Officiating for couples provides a perfect parallel path as I focus on creating a more spiritually complete life. With that I can offer couples a calming presence on their wedding day. It is a great honor and privilege to share in a couple's decision to be married. I consider myself a facilitator and want to do everything I can to make the marriage ceremony fulfilling and the perfect culmination to all the planning and anticipation.

About Maureen

When my daughter was in kindergarten, she completed a project that was entitled "The Most Important Thing About Me". It wasa great idea, because it taught the kids to really sift through the
many facets of their lives and produce one "best" thing. I guess if I had to tell you the "most important thing about me" in regard to my role as your officiant, it would be that I am passionate about my work. I love what I do and it shows in the quality of the work that Lyssabeth's offers. I love the creativity we express through a wonderful and innovative ceremony; I love getting to know new people, learning about them and their "stories" and how those can be incorporated into a memorable ceremony.

I take particular delight in trying new things for ceremonies and sharing ideas that have worked for other couples. There is simply no better "job" than working with a couple to create an intimate,
unique and memorable wedding day experience. I began performing ceremonies in 2001, weaving my talents for writing, public speaking, organizing, creativity, and event coordination into a new direction.

As word of my creative and unique ceremonies has spread, I have been fortunate to add a number talented and creative officiants to my staff who perform ceremonies with the same materials and philosophy as I. Our growth continues and we now have officiants located throughout the Rocky Mountains.  Our spiritual philosophy is to respect all beliefs and religious values as long as they do no harm to others. I am most fortunate to have met so many individuals with diverse beliefs and I have learned much along the way!

Other things about me that are also "most important" are that I grew up in Rhode Island. I moved to Colorado in 1995 with my two daughters--after whom the business is named--Bethany (now 26) and Alyssa (now 22) who, along with granddaughter Kaydi, never cease to amaze me. I have been blessed to find the love of my life, my husband, Jeremy, who enthusiastically supports me in everything I do. He is my best friend and my true hero.

In addition to my friends and family, my other passions include reading, hiking, cooking, entrepreneurship, biking, enjoying the Colorado Rocky Mountains, traveling, and anything to do with the written or spoken expression of the English language (which lends itself to a very annoying insistence on proper grammar, punctuation and spelling in written ceremonies, so I'll beg your indulgence in advance).

As Lyssabeth's has grown, I have had the privilege of adding delightful and creative staff who write, perform and photograph ceremonies. I couldn't manage without their wonderful talent and enthusiasm. Please read their stories above.
